A fast-growing 100% cloud-based tax advisory firm specializing in high-level strategic tax planning for healthcare professionals and affluent business owners all over the U.S is seeking a knowledgeable, take-charge personality to join the accounting department as a Remote Senior Accountant.

Compensation: $65,000 $85,000 DOE
This position will supervise other team members, assist with technical work, and provide support to the accounting department leaders. This position has room for growth within the company to the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Work with clients in the healthcare industry and other personal service industries to keep their accounting records current and accurate.
- Assist preparers with proper recording for taxes, and be able to assist the tax team if needed
- Handle client communications through the use of portal messaging, telephone, and video conferencing
- Ensure compliance with applicable standards (i.e. GAAP, FASB), rules, regulations, and systems of internal control
- Provide accurate, timely, and relevant recording, reporting, and analysis of financial information
- Clean-up projects of client’s bookkeeping
- Identify areas for improvement and implement improvements to processes
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Understanding of payroll, depreciation, inventory, sales tax
- Processing Payroll and Accounts Payable
- Review the accounting work of team members
- Delegate financial responsibilities to the accounting team
- Support operations of the accounting department and ensure work is being completed in a timely manner for you and your team
Qualifications
- We are looking for a candidate with 4+ years of experience in a public accountant role and at least 1 year of reviewing experience.
- Experience with medical professionals desired but not required
- Experience using QuickBooks Online, Gusto, Excel, and Google Sheets
- Strong accounting, analytical, and research skills.
- Tax knowledge and prior tax preparation experience
- Experience getting books ready for taxes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with team members and clients
- Solid financial accounting background and understanding of financial statements (GAAP)
- Strong tax background – knowledge of tax code, compliance, and procedures for corporations.
- Strong experience with a variety of bookkeeping operations and ability to drive process improvements.
- Strong ability to utilize project management and accounting best practices to organize and prioritize tasks and the tasks of other team members.
- Ability to work well independently as well as the ability to work well with clients and team members
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Must have a take-charge, get-things-done attitude
