Base Salary: $75,000 – $90,000 per year (USD)
Commensurate with experience; includes incentive pay.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Remote Accounting & Tax Supervisor who excels at problem-solving and team development. In this role, you will bridge the gap between day-to-day bookkeeping and high-level tax preparation. You’ll be the technical “go-to” for a team of bookkeepers, ensuring their financial reports are flawless while personally handling tax-saving strategies and year-end filings for small business clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Team Mentorship: Support and train less experienced team members, teaching advanced bookkeeping, QBO features, and payroll/sales tax concepts.
• Quality Control: Review the work of direct reports to ensure financial reports are 90-100% accurate and delivered on time.
• Problem Solving: Identify discrepancies within financial statements and develop creative solutions to correct mistakes within software limitations.
• Tax Strategy: Explain common tax-saving strategies to clients and prepare accurate year-end reports for both clients and their tax teams.
• Process Improvement: Assist in updating existing processes and standard operating procedures to keep the firm running efficiently.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Firm Experience: Must have prior experience working in a CPA firm.
• Technical Proficiency: High skill level in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel is required.
• Tax Expertise: Experience preparing S-Corp and Individual tax returns is a significant plus.
• Credentials: CPA or EA license is required (though we will consider candidates who plan to complete their license within the next 12 months).
• Communication: Ability to work until 5:00 PM MT at least three days per week to support the team and clients.
