Job Description:
Remote Finance subject matter experts needed to train AI for a 3-week project; 10+ hours per week min.

Our client is seeking experienced finance professionals to evaluate how frontier AI models handle real-world finance work, including valuation and modeling, credit analysis, investment memos, FP&A, and treasury and risk decisions.

You will design realistic tasks drawn from your own professional experience. The goal is to create tasks a competent finance professional would complete correctly but an AI model currently gets wrong.

This is a fully remote, flexible, self-directed role where clear written reasoning matters as much as technical depth.

Responsibilities

  • Design realistic finance tasks based on your day-to-day work, including the scenario, a prompt written the way you would brief a trusted colleague, and supporting files you author yourself (financial statements, models, data extracts, term sheets, board or IC materials, correspondence).
  • Run tasks through frontier AI models and evaluate the resulting deliverables against the standard you would hold a colleague to.
  • Compare two model outputs generated from identical prompts and files, determine which performed better, and document where each fell short.
  • Write detailed grading rubrics specifying what a correct deliverable must contain, including the right assumptions, calculations, risks flagged, and recommendation, and explain in writing why a response passes or fails each criterion.
  • Identify and document concrete failures with evidence, such as broken model logic, unsupported assumptions, misread financials, fabricated or ignored source files, unit and scaling errors, missed risks, and misinterpretation of the request.
  • Contribute across valuation and modeling, credit, FP&A, markets, treasury, and risk, and review and refine tasks built by other experts.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in corporate or investment finance preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree (completed or in progress) or higher in finance, economics, business, or a quantitative field.
  • Depth in at least one of the following areas: equity or fixed income research; portfolio management or trading; corporate finance and FP&A; credit analysis and underwriting; investment banking, M&A, or corporate development; treasury and liquidity; market, credit, or liquidity risk; wealth management; or insurance, actuarial, or underwriting.
  • Working knowledge of several adjacent areas, enough to understand how those workflows run and to assess work outside your primary specialty.
  • Ability to build and audit models at a practitioner level, not only consume their outputs.
  • CFA, CPA, FRM, or securities licenses are welcome but not required

General Requirements

  • Currently doing (or recently did) hands-on individual contributor work, with the ability to turn real-world experience into realistic test scenarios.
  • Full professional or native English fluency, with strong writing skills and the ability to clearly explain why a result is wrong, not just that it is.
  • Strong attention to detail. You can quickly get oriented in unfamiliar files, verify claims against the underlying numbers, and work independently from incomplete instructions or feedback.
  • Familiarity with AI tools and the judgment to spot a plausible but incorrect answer.
  • Comfortable with cloud file tools (e.g., Google Workspace), installing desktop apps, and everyday file handling.
  • Available at least 10 hours per week and based in the United States, Canada, or the United Kingdom.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $40–$125 per hour (USD), paid via PayPal on a regular schedule
  • Fully remote contract position
  • Flexible scheduling, with multi-day task timers that allow work to be spread across days
  • Access to AI tools provided through the project (no personal subscription required)
  • Compensation for every completed stage of work
  • Support through platform instructions, onboarding materials, a dedicated Slack channel, and office hours

Hiring Process

  1. Apply and create an account through the link provided by your recruiter.
  2. Complete a skills assessment (approximately 2–4 hours, unpaid). The assessment evaluates domain fit, careful reading, and your ability to judge AI output against a professional standard. All work must be your own. Submissions produced with AI tools will be rejected, and this is the most common reason candidates do not pass.
  3. Assessment review. If you pass, you’ll complete onboarding, begin paid projects in your field, and complete a short training project covering how tasks, files, and rubrics are built.
  4. Propose a task from your professional experience, including the scenario, prompt, files you’ll build, and where you expect the model to fail. An expert reviewer will provide written feedback.
  5. Build and run your task. Once your proposal is accepted, you’ll build the full task and run it against frontier models. All completed tasks go through expert review, and experienced contributors may be invited to review others’ work.
