Position Summary

As a Tax Senior, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of tax returns, supporting client advisory work, and helping to supervise and mentor junior staff. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills who is ready to take the next step in their public accounting career and wants exposure to both compliance and consulting in a supportive environment. You will report directly to the Partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and nonprofits.
  • Conduct tax research and prepare memos or summaries on technical issues.
  • Assist in year-round tax planning and consulting engagements.
  • Communicate directly with clients regarding tax issues, requests, and planning opportunities.
  • Support the Tax Manager and Partners with complex returns and special projects.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to staff accountants, including reviewing their work.
  • Help manage engagement workflow to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Stay informed of changes in tax laws and regulations affecting clients.

Qualifications

  • CPA license or working toward licensure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 3–5 years of recent experience in public accounting.
  • Solid understanding of federal and multi-state tax laws.
  • Proficiency with tax software (preferably Ultra Tax).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
