Job Description:
A high-performance tax advisory firm is seeking a Senior Strategic Tax Counsel to lead legal strategy and architect advanced tax planning initiatives. This is a full-time remote (or optional hybrid) role for a senior tax attorney with 8+ years of experience in entity structuring, estate planning, and asset protection.
This role is ideal for a legal professional who thrives in strategic environments, has deep expertise in tax law, and wants to play a key role in reducing tax burdens and protecting assets for high-income individuals and founder-led businesses.
Responsibilities:
- Structure Design: Oversee legal design and review of business entity structures aligned with federal and state tax laws.
- Estate & Wealth Transfer Planning: Craft and assess strategies using trusts and other legal instruments to transfer wealth across generations.
- Asset Protection: Advise on safeguarding client and company assets through sound legal mechanisms across jurisdictions.
- Legal Oversight: Review planning documentation and agreements to ensure compliance and legal defensibility.
- Strategic Input: Monitor tax law and regulatory developments to proactively guide planning strategy.
- Collaboration: Work closely with client strategists, financial modelers, and implementation teams to ensure seamless legal execution.
Qualifications:
- JD from an accredited law school; LL.M. in Taxation strongly preferred
- 8+ years of experience in tax law, estate planning, or entity structuring
- Expert-level understanding of federal tax code, trust law, and asset protection strategy
- Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, family offices, or founder-led businesses
- Exceptional communication, drafting, and problem-solving skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a focus on solutions and results
