Base Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 per year (USD)
Commensurate with experience.

Role Summary

We are a growing remote Client Advisory Services (CAS) firm seeking an Accounting Manager to serve as our technical and operational backbone. This is not a production bookkeeping role. Instead, you will take full ownership of our delivery engine—ensuring all monthly work is accurate, tax-ready, and fully visible. Your mission is to remove the owner from daily oversight by implementing flawless workflow standards and quality control.

Key Responsibilities

• Operations Ownership: Oversee monthly bookkeeping delivery, ensuring all reconciliations and financials are complete, accurate, and “client-ready.”
• Team Leadership: Manage a remote team of bookkeepers, holding them accountable to workflow standards and communication expectations.
• Workflow Optimization: Standardize processes within Canopy, define task statuses, and eliminate operational bottlenecks.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and lead a monthly QA review process to identify recurring issues and execute permanent fixes.
• Reporting: Provide high-level delivery reporting to firm leadership, maintaining real-time visibility into the status of all client work.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in public accounting or CAS. Proven expertise in bookkeeping and financial statement review is mandatory.
• Leadership: Experience managing remote teams and holding staff accountable to deadlines and quality standards.
• Systems Mindset: Strong background in implementing or improving workflow systems (experience with Canopy is a plus).
• Skills: Process-driven and highly organized. Experience developing and documenting SOPs is preferred.
• Credentials: CPA or other accounting certification is preferred.

What Success Looks Like
 
Within your first 90 days, you will have established a QA system, standardized our process in Canopy, and achieved 100% visibility across all bookkeeping tasks. Most importantly, you will have successfully shifted daily bookkeeping oversight from the owner to yourself, allowing the firm to scale with confidence.
