This position requires advanced technical skills in tax and accounting, along with well-developed management and supervisory abilities. The Tax Manager will also have input on any tax matter presented and play a key role in firm management and development.

  • Review tax returns and financial statements to ensure technical accuracy and adherence to firm standards.
  • Prepare complex business and individual tax returns and provide tax planning independently.

  • Perform a broad range of accounting tasks, minimizing direct partner involvement.
  • Conduct technical tax reviews and approve all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity.

  • Delegate and manage governmental tax examinations and may represent clients before appropriate tax authorities.
  • Train and develop staff through recruiting, performance evaluations, developing training aids, and instructing professional development programs.
  • Maintain a complete knowledge of the firm’s philosophy and positions on tax matters.
  • Stay current on general economic and political trends and legislation that may affect clients.
  • Participate in the firm’s practice development efforts through involvement with referral sources, community, and industry activities.
  • Sign and issue select tax returns.
