Responsibilities:

● Review and sign tax returns for individuals, trusts, and businesses
● Perform technical tax research to address complex tax issues with the support of the tax team
● Conduct tax planning engagements to support financial advisors in their goal of providing comprehensive financial planning to their clients
● Manage relationships with 50 financial advisors and their tax clients
● Meet with financial advisors and their clients to cultivate relationships, build trust, and provide value
● Grow the service line through direct communication with advisors and their clients to determine the scope and cost of tax return preparation services
● Hold semi-annual advisor-facing webinars to teach advisors aspects of tax law and present planning opportunities to help their clients
● Write 2 technical tax blogs per year to share with current and prospective advisors
● Attend weekly tax team L-10 meetings
● Collaborate with the Senior Director and the team to set quarterly goals and accomplish them

Measurables:

● In season: Review 300 Tax returns
● Accomplish 300 hours of tax planning per year (prorated by start date)

Qualifications:

● Legally authorized to live and work in the United States
● Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, taxation, or a related field
● CPA or Enrolled Agent required
● 5-6+ years of experience preparing and reviewing client work papers and tax returns
● Tax preparation experience with Ultratax and other similar professional tax preparation software (Lacerte, Prosystems, etc.)
● Proficiency in QuickBooks
● A talent for simplifying complex tax law by explaining aspects of complex tax law
● The ability to work collaboratively with teams and independently
● The ability to monitor deadlines and simultaneously balance many projects with assistance from our Operations team
● A propensity for learning new software and tools to create task efficiencies and automate reports
● The ability to complete quality work with a high degree of accuracy
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Background in the financial services industry
● A talent for addressing issues and solving problems in a practical and healthy manner in a rapidly growing business
● Experience working in a hyper-growth environment and an understanding that “scaling” isn’t a bad word

Compensation & Benefits

● All team members are owners! Client contributes an equivalent of 8% of your compensation to ESOP for your benefit.
