Remote Staff Accountant needed to prepare mostly individual tax returns, and work closely with the owner of a mid-sized CPA firm. Fully remote and flexible opportunity. Knowledge of Lacerte is strongly preferred.

Job Type:

*Must have CPA firm experience
Full time, W2 (with additional hours required during tax season – estimated 50-60 hours per
week during tax season)
Location: REMOTE within the US
Compensation: $70,000- $85,000 DOE

Responsibilities:

Prepare federal and state individual and fiduciary income tax returns
Prepare quarterly payroll tax returns
Prepare monthly / quarterly sales tax returns
Prepare annual 1099s
Prepare financial statement compilations
Communicate with clients via email and phone
Respond to tax notices

Desired Skills and Experience:

BBA/BS/MST in Accounting
3+ years of relevant experience
Basic technology skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines with accuracy
Previous experience at a smaller CPA Firm a plus
Software Knowledge – Preferred but not mandatory
- Lacerte (strongly preferred)
- Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word)
- QuickBooks Desktop (light usage – primarily reviewing, minimal bookkeeping)
- QuickBooks Online (light usage – primarily reviewing, minimal bookkeeping)
